About Me

Welcome, Children of God!

Exodus 15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Moses relates to Joad, in The Grapes of Wrath through his leadership and initiative.  They both equally take charge and try to lead "their people" through difficult times.

There are many ways in which the Grapes of Wrath parallels the teachings of the bible and the Song of Moses!

One of the main themes in the Grapes of Wrath is hope. Hope to survive and the optimism and strength to carry on, even through the toughest of times. This is also an important theme in the Bible and Song of Moses. The idea of hope is what the teachings of Jesus were based on and is an ongoing theme throughout the bible and in all religions.

The Song of Moses was an inspritaion to the people and served as proof of the people's triumph by proving those who doubted Moses wrong. This parallels the circumstances in the Grapes of Wrath. The migrant workers survive and fight to live against all odds and the Joad family thrives through unity and hard work, and opposes the doubts of many around them.

The Song of Moses background and historical information!!!

The growth of Tom after he is released from jail (rebirth) and the changes he makes in himself concerning his new sense of self-worth and responsibility, exemplify the theme of rebirth and self-betterment stated in the Bible and The Song of Moses.

The Song of Moses is sang to praise the Lord God Almighty for His great works and faith in His people. This is similar to the praise that the Joad family feels that they have been successful in reaching California and staying unified.
